Sports Desk (Voice of Russia): The Pak-India match frenzy has gripped the 2027 Cricket World Cup, with more than 110,000 ticket ballot requests already received for the blockbuster clash — the highest for any match.
According to details, demand for ICC World Cup tickets has surpassed all expectations in the very first phase, with ballot requests crossing one million in less than three days.
More than 1.1 million ticket requests have been received for various matches of the World Cup being staged in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
The greatest excitement for tickets is being seen around the highly anticipated Pakistan-India encounter.
More than 92,000 requests have come in for the South Africa-India match, while over 86,000 for the India-Australia contest.
The pre-seeded Super 7 match between India and Pakistan, scheduled for November 7, is also drawing massive fan attention, with around 78,000 requests received.
The World Cup final, to be played on November 21, is also proving popular, with nearly 69,000 ticket requests received.
ICC Chief Executive Sanjog Gupta said that one million requests in just over 48 hours of the ticket ballot opening is clear proof of how much the Cricket World Cup’s popularity and global appeal have grown.
According to him, the ICC’s major events are no longer just sporting contests but have become global festivals connecting people of different cultures and regions.
Organising Committee Chief Executive Qondisa Ngqonia also expressed delight at the extraordinary demand for tickets, saying that requests for more than one million tickets reflect the unprecedented desire of fans worldwide to be part of the tournament.
According to her, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia are ready to host fans from around the world, and the World Cup will prove a memorable experience on and off the field.
Registration in the ticket ballot will remain open until 11:59 PM Central African Time on November 21.
Entering the ballot is completely free for fans; no payment is required at the time of registration. Each person can apply once per match, while applying for more than one match is also possible.
The ticket ballot is not on a first-come, first-served basis, so applying early or joining later makes no difference to the chances of success.
If more requests are received for a match than the available tickets, successful applicants will be selected through a draw.
Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified on the email address provided during registration.
