Moscow (Voice of Russia): Russia’s Defense Ministry has said that Russian forces have taken control of two settlements in eastern Ukraine over the past 24 hours, as fighting continued across multiple fronts.
According to the ministry, units of the Northern Battlegroup secured the settlement of Sidorovka in Ukraine’s Sumy region, while forces from the Western Battlegroup established control over Glushkovka in the Kharkov region following what were described as decisive combat operations.
The ministry claimed that Ukrainian forces suffered approximately 1,105 casualties across the conflict zone during the same period.
Breaking down the figures, Russian officials said around 210 Ukrainian troops were lost in clashes involving the Northern Battlegroup. More than 150 casualties were reported in the area of operations of the Western Battlegroup, while over 120 personnel were lost in engagements with the Southern Battlegroup. The Central Battlegroup reportedly inflicted more than 205 casualties, while actions by the Eastern and Dnepr battlegroups accounted for approximately 390 and 30 casualties, respectively.
Russian air defense systems were also reported to have intercepted multiple incoming threats. The Defense Ministry said its forces shot down 27 US-supplied HIMARS rockets, three Ukrainian Neptune long-range missiles, and 42 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles over the past day.
Since the beginning of what Moscow refers to as the special military operation, Russian forces claim to have destroyed hundreds of Ukrainian military assets. These reportedly include 670 combat aircraft, 283 helicopters, more than 112,000 drones, 650 air defense systems, over 27,500 tanks and armored vehicles, as well as thousands of artillery systems, rocket launchers, and military transport vehicles.
The ministry further stated that Russian aircraft, missile units, artillery, and strike drones targeted fuel and energy facilities, transport infrastructure, and temporary deployment sites used by Ukrainian forces and foreign fighters. These strikes were said to have been carried out at 145 locations across the conflict zone.
