Moscow (Voice of Russia): Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov held a meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, during which both sides discussed bilateral relations and the evolving situation in the Persian Gulf.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the meeting, held on May 7, focused on the schedule of upcoming diplomatic contacts between the two countries, while detailed discussions were also held regarding the current situation in the Gulf region.
During the meeting, the Russian side expressed support for Pakistan’s mediation and diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions between Iran and the United States.
Russian officials described Islamabad’s role in promoting regional peace and stability as important, emphasizing that diplomacy and dialogue remain the most effective means for resolving ongoing conflicts.
Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation and maintaining continuous diplomatic engagement between Russia and Pakistan.
