MOSCOW (Voice of Russia): Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has said that after the relevant trade agreements are signed, Russian diesel will reach the US market within 15 to 20 days.
In an interview with the Russian TV channel Vesti, Novak said that the US Department of Energy has identified the companies buying Russian diesel and the parties involved in the agreements.
He said negotiations are under way between Russian and American companies on prices and other commercial terms, and diesel deliveries will begin as soon as the agreements are signed.
According to Novak, it may take 15 to 20 days for diesel to reach the US market, while deliveries to other world markets located closer to Russia will take less time.
The Russian Deputy Prime Minister said that the day after the telephone conversation and mutual understanding between President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, the Russian government had lifted the restrictions imposed on diesel exports.
He said Russia will increase diesel production and exports according to plan. It is planned to supply 500,000 tonnes in October, 1 million tonnes in November and 1 million tonnes in December.
According to Alexander Novak, if Russian oil refineries continue operating at full capacity, a total of 3.5 million tonnes of diesel can be supplied to world markets by the end of this year, which accounts for about 10 percent of the global market.
He said active contacts are under way between the Russian Energy Ministry and the US Department of Energy, while direct negotiations are also taking place between Russian exporters and American buyer companies.
