MOSCOW (Shahid Ghumman): On the second day of the three-day Russian Energy Week Forum 2026 underway in Moscow, important sessions were held on global energy security, the oil and gas market, new technology, alternative energy and prospects for cooperation between different countries.

Government representatives from various countries, energy experts, investors and officials of Russian and foreign companies are taking part in the forum. Business sessions discussed secure and uninterrupted energy supply, price stability in the global market, digital technology and new investment prospects in the energy sector.
On the sidelines of the forum, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that sending the first shipment of Russian diesel to the United States could take at least two to three weeks. According to him, to start supplies, the process of concluding a deal, loading the fuel, arranging a vessel and dispatching it to the buyer will have to be completed.
Alexander Novak said Russia has the capacity to supply 300,000 tonnes of diesel in October, 500,000 tonnes in November and 1 million tonnes in December. Later, monthly export volume can be increased to up to 3 million tonnes.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump discussed the supply of petroleum products during their telephone conversation on October 9. The US administration has issued a general license for the supply of Russian diesel to the global market until April 7, 2027.
The Russian Deputy Prime Minister also raised the issue of the security of energy installations. He said Ukrainian drones targeted two Russian oil refineries in the Saratov and Ryazan regions. According to him, these attacks show that the Ukrainian side is not making progress toward stopping attacks on energy installations.
During the forum, meetings between Russian and foreign companies also continued. These meetings discussed oil and gas, electricity, nuclear energy, renewable sources and the use of modern equipment and technology in the energy sector.
President Vladimir Putin, in his message to the forum participants, described Russian Energy Week as a credible platform for meaningful discussion on key global energy issues and for promoting mutual cooperation.
The Russian Energy Week Forum began on October 14 and will conclude on October 16. The forum is being held with the cooperation of the Russian government, the Ministry of Energy and the Moscow government, while the Roscongress Foundation is its organizer.
