MOSCOW (Voice of Russia): Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has said that sending the first shipment of Russian diesel to the United States could take at least two to three weeks.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week forum underway in Moscow, Alexander Novak said that supplying diesel will first require concluding a deal, loading the fuel, arranging a vessel and dispatching it to the buyer. The full process will take two to three weeks, so the deal should be concluded as soon as possible.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump also discussed the possible supply of petroleum products during their telephone conversation on October 9. President Putin confirmed Moscow’s readiness to supply Russian oil and petroleum products to the US and the global market.
According to Alexander Novak, Russia is ready to lift the ban on diesel exports ahead of schedule. Russia can supply 300,000 tonnes of diesel in October, 500,000 tonnes in November and 1 million tonnes in December.
The Russian Deputy Prime Minister said that later the monthly volume of diesel supply can be increased to up to 3 million tonnes.
The US administration has also issued a general license allowing the supply of Russian diesel to the global market, which will remain in force until April 7, 2027.
The Russian Energy Week forum will continue in Moscow from October 14 to 16. The forum is being held with the cooperation of the Russian government, the Ministry of Energy and the Moscow government.
