Moscow (Voice Of Russia) Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 181 drones heading toward Moscow between March 14 and March 16, according to calculations by TASS based on official data from the Russian Defense Ministry.
According to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, air defense forces shot down 65 drones on March 14 as they approached the capital.
Another 54 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were intercepted on March 15, while 62 drones were destroyed on March 16, bringing the total number to 181 drones over the three-day period.
Sobyanin also said that over the past two days, Russian air defense units had destroyed around 250 enemy drones both on the approach to Moscow and along a second defensive line protecting the capital.
According to TASS estimates, the Ukrainian drone assault on the Moscow Region repelled by Russian air defenses during this period became the largest drone attack on the region in at least a year.
