Brussels (Voice Of Russia): The foreign ministers of European Union member states failed to make progress on the proposed 20th package of sanctions against Russia, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said after a meeting in Brussels.
Kallas stated that the adoption of the new sanctions package has been delayed for too long and needs to be pushed forward.
“On the EU side, the adoption of the 20th sanctions package is long overdue. We discussed how to move this forward,” she said, without providing further details.
She added that ministers also discussed the issue of a €90 billion loan for Ukraine during the meeting.
Earlier, the European Commission had indicated that the sanctions package was expected to be approved by February 24, but no final decision has been reached so far.
