Moscow (Voice Of Russia): Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, visited the historic Yasnaya Polyana Museum-Estate, the former residence of renowned Russian writer Leo Tolstoy, where he held discussions on enhancing cultural and academic cooperation between Pakistan and Russia.
During the visit, Ambassador Tirmizi met with Ekaterina Tolstaya, Director of the Yasnaya Polyana Museum-Estate, and Galina Alekseeva, Research Director of the institution.
The discussions focused on prospects for expanding cooperation in literary studies, translation projects, and academic exchanges. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening scholarly engagement and agreed to explore opportunities for greater participation of Pakistani researchers and academics in the museum-estate’s intellectual and cultural initiatives.
As part of the visit, Ambassador Tirmizi toured Leo Tolstoy’s historic residence and learned about the life, works, and legacy of one of the world’s most influential literary figures.
The Ambassador also paid tribute at the grave of Leo Tolstoy, honoring the renowned Russian author whose literary contributions continue to inspire readers across the globe.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to promoting cultural diplomacy and strengthening people-to-people contacts through literature, education, research, and academic collaboration.
Observers believe the visit represents an important step toward further enhancing cultural and intellectual ties between Pakistan and Russia, while creating new opportunities for cooperation between academic and literary institutions of the two countries.
