Moscow (Shahid Ghumman) The 65th International Textile and Light Industry Expo Textilelegprom was held in the Russian capital from March 3 to 5, 2026, bringing together professionals from the textile, apparel, raw materials, and fashion sectors, including manufacturers, suppliers, and buyers from various countries.
The event took place at Crocus Expo, Pavilion 3, Hall 13, where hundreds of companies showcased their latest products, advanced technologies, and innovative business solutions. More than 570 exhibitors participated in the exhibition, while over 31,000 visitors attended the three-day event. Industry experts and entrepreneurs from Russia, CIS countries, and other regions were among the participants.
The expo featured textile machinery, raw materials, ready-made garments, home textiles, fashion accessories, and related products, offering business communities opportunities to explore new markets, establish partnerships, and secure direct contracts.
At this major international platform, Pakistan’s renowned textile company Kohinoor Mills Limited also set up its stall, presenting a wide range of high-quality fabrics manufactured by the company. The Pakistani pavilion attracted significant attention from buyers and Russian traders.
During the exhibition, the Head of Chancery of the Embassy of Pakistan in Moscow, Giyan Chand, visited the expo and stopped by the Kohinoor Mills stall, where he met with the company’s Deputy General Manager, Rizwan Aslam. The meeting focused on the potential of Pakistani textiles in the Russian market and ways to enhance bilateral trade cooperation.
Speaking exclusively to “Voice of Russia”, Rizwan Aslam said that Russia represents a large and emerging market with vast opportunities for high-quality Pakistani textile products. He noted that international exhibitions like Textilelegprom play a vital role in building direct connections with buyers and laying the groundwork for long-term business agreements.
Meanwhile, prominent Moscow-based businessman Syed Khursheed Rizvi told “Voice of Russia” that there is considerable scope for expanding trade between Pakistan and Russia, particularly in the textile sector. He emphasized that better coordination at both governmental and private levels could significantly boost bilateral trade.
Participants highlighted that the 65th Textile Expo proved to be an important business platform not only for the Russian textile industry but also for strengthening global trade ties, while the presence of Pakistani companies was viewed as a positive development in the context of Pakistan-Russia economic relations.
