Moscow (Voice Of Russia): Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu has stated that the framework of the global security architecture is rapidly collapsing, with its structure becoming increasingly blurred with each passing day.
Speaking to the media on March 5, Shoigu said that in recent times the global security system has been eroding almost daily, gradually losing its clear contours. According to him, this situation is affecting nearly all areas of international security.
He noted that in the past, certain pretexts were used to justify attacks on countries, referring to the example of a vial containing white powder that once served as justification for military action. However, he said the world has now reached a stage where even such excuses or persuasive words are no longer considered necessary.
Commenting on the situation in the Middle East, Sergey Shoigu described the aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran as an absolutely unprecedented disregard for international law.
He warned that the consequences of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East could be extremely serious and long-lasting, affecting the entire world. According to Shoigu, the crisis could impact global energy and food markets, as well as sectors such as liquefied natural gas, oil supplies, and international logistics.
The Russian Security Council Secretary further noted that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz for even a single day could lead to losses of approximately seven billion dollars for the global economy.
He emphasized that the war in the Middle East was launched without a proper understanding of its potential consequences and far-reaching impacts.
