MOSCOW(Voice Of Russia) Russia has described the attack on the commercial vessel Arctic Metagaz in the Mediterranean Sea as a terrorist act and a war crime.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the strike on a civilian vessel represents a gross violation of international law. According to her, the attack deliberately targeted a civilian object and could have resulted in serious consequences, including loss of life and environmental damage.
Zakharova also noted that the attack occurred near the shores of a European Union member state but that no European country has yet condemned the incident.
