Moscow (Shahid Ghumman) — Russia’s Defense Ministry has claimed that during February 7–13, more than 8,485 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded in the ongoing special military operation in Ukraine. The ministry also stated that dozens of tanks, over 100 armored combat vehicles, hundreds of military vehicles, multiple rocket launchers, and numerous ammunition depots were destroyed. During the same period, Russian forces reportedly established control over four new settlements.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry’s statement, Battlegroup North captured the settlements of Chugunovka in the Kharkov Region and Sidorovka in the Sumy Region. Battlegroup West took control of Glushkovka in the Kharkov Region, while Battlegroup East advanced into the Zaporozhye Region and announced the capture of Zaliznichnoye.
The ministry further reported that across various frontline sectors, Battlegroup North inflicted over 1,425 casualties on Ukrainian forces; Battlegroup West, more than 1,130; Battlegroup South, over 925; Battlegroup Center, more than 1,895; Battlegroup East, over 2,830; and Battlegroup Dnepr, approximately 280. The statement also claimed the destruction of German-made Leopard tanks during these engagements.
In response to what it described as Ukrainian attacks on civilian facilities inside Russia, the ministry said Russian forces carried out one massive and six combined strikes using precision-guided weapons and drones. Targets allegedly included Ukraine’s defense-industrial enterprises, energy and fuel facilities, military airfields, weapons and missile depots, and drone production and storage sites.
The statement added that Russian air defense systems shot down five cruise missiles, 28 guided aerial bombs, 39 HIMARS rockets, four Neptune long-range missiles, and 1,243 drones over the course of the week.
Since the beginning of the special military operation, the Russian Defense Ministry claims that 670 Ukrainian combat aircraft, 283 helicopters, 113,957 drones, 27,647 tanks and armored vehicles, 1,664 multiple rocket launchers, and more than 33,000 field artillery guns and mortars have been destroyed. These claims could not be independently verified.
