Jeddah (Atif Wattoo): A dinner reception was hosted in Jeddah in honor of a delegation of Pakistani journalists from Sukkur Press Club who arrived in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah under the leadership of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) Finance Secretary Lala Asad Pathan.
The reception was organized by Chairman United Journalists Forum Jahangir Khan along with Pakistani journalists based in Saudi Arabia. Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Jahangir Khan, Haji Usman, Shoaib Altaf and Adil.
Addressing the gathering, Jahangir Khan said that Sukkur Press Club represents the true voice of the people of Sindh. He praised Lala Asad Pathan’s leadership, stating that Sukkur Press Club is the only press club in Pakistan that facilitates journalists to perform Umrah every year.
PFUJ Finance Secretary and Chief Reporter ARY News Sindh, Lala Asad Pathan, thanked Saudi-based Pakistani journalists for the warm reception. He said that this was the annual Umrah delegation of journalists from Sukkur and that all expenses of the delegation were borne by Sukkur Press Club and himself.
He added that such gatherings strengthen ties between journalists working in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and serve as a bridge for professional cooperation. He reaffirmed that the struggle for press freedom and freedom of expression would continue.
The delegation included Sukkur Press Club President Khalid Banbhan, Sukkur Union of Journalists President Javed Jatoi, Court Reporters Association President Anas Ghanghro, Sukkur Press Club General Secretary Ahqar Rizvi, Khairpur Union of Journalists General Secretary Naveed Khuhro, Vice Presidents Shafi Abro and Ishaq Khoso, Photo Journalists Vice President Asif Awan, and Saleem Sahto.
Senior members of the Pakistani media community in Saudi Arabia, including Pakistan Overseas Media Forum President Raja Shoaib Altaf, Haji Usman, Muhammad Adil, Atiq Ali Wattoo, Muhammad Shehab, Syed Fahad, Fawad Swati, and APNEC President Siddiq Azhar, also attended the event.
