MOSCOW (Voice of Russia): The Kremlin has said that Russia has received no information about alleged efforts to return its frozen assets in Europe and place them under US control.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters during a briefing that Moscow is unaware of the matter, and the credibility of the reports circulating in the media could not be confirmed either.
According to Dmitry Peskov, media reports indicate that this issue may be on the agenda of ongoing discussions between the US and European countries, but Russia has not been officially informed about it.
The British newspaper Financial Times had claimed that US representatives proposed bringing the frozen Russian assets in Europe under US control during talks held in Miami.
According to the report, the US wanted to use this step to help resolve the Ukraine conflict, but representatives of the European Union reportedly rejected the proposal.
The Kremlin made clear that the accuracy of these reports has not been independently confirmed.
