RABAT (Voice of Russia): Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has warned that ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz with their navigation and identification systems switched off will be considered enemy vessels.
The IRGC Navy’s press office said in its statement that all ships that turn off their navigation and identification equipment in the Strait of Hormuz will be classified as enemy vessels.
The statement warned that vessels violating the rules would face strict action.
According to the IRGC, since yesterday, three oil tankers that violated the Iranian rules set for transiting the Strait of Hormuz have caught fire after hitting naval mines.
The statement did not provide further details about the identity of the affected oil tankers, the condition of their crews, or the locations of the incidents.
