Moscow (Voice of Russia): Russian President Vladimir Putin has received numerous congratulatory messages and telegrams from heads of state, prime ministers and leaders of international organisations on the occasion of his 74th birthday.
According to the Kremlin, representatives of political and public circles from various countries also congratulated the Russian president, wishing him health and success and peace and prosperity for the Russian people.
Several world leaders telephoned President Putin to warmly congratulate him. During these contacts, brief exchanges also took place on some bilateral and international matters.
President Putin continued his official engagements at the Kremlin on his birthday. Following the telephone conversations with world leaders, a meeting of the permanent members of the Russian Security Council chaired by him was also scheduled.
