Moscow (Voice of Russia):A dignified ceremony was held at the Pakistan Embassy in Moscow to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day, during which India’s policies in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir were strongly criticized.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, performed by Maulana Ali Akbar.
Members of the Pakistani community, business leaders, representatives from various walks of life, and media persons attended the ceremony. On the occasion, the message of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari was read out by Deputy Head of Mission Gian Chand, while the message of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was conveyed to the participants by First Secretary Habib Munir.
Addressing the gathering, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, stated that the issue of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir remains one of the oldest unresolved disputes on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council and continues to pose a major obstacle to peace, stability, and regional cooperation.
The Ambassador strongly criticized India’s policies, stating that the consequences of India’s current actions would not be limited to India alone but would affect the entire world. He remarked that India has even politicized non-political spheres such as sports.
He further said that India has politicized cricket, adding that Pakistan and Bangladesh had taken dignified and principled decisions in this regard.
Ambassador Tirmizi emphasized that dignity is above all else, stating that if dignity exists, everything exists, and without dignity, nothing remains.
He added that a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute is essential not only for safeguarding the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people but also for ensuring economic development and regional connectivity across South Asia.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, a documentary highlighting grave human rights violations committed by Indian forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir was screened. A photo exhibition was also organized to showcase the hardships and suffering faced by the Kashmiri people.
