Moscow (Voice Of Russia) The Kremlin is currently working on the possibility of an early withdrawal from European energy markets following instructions from President Vladimir Putin, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.<\/p>\n
Speaking at a briefing, Peskov stated that the directive to assess a potential halt in energy supplies to Europe is under detailed consideration and requires comprehensive analysis.<\/p>\n
He noted that the global energy market is facing serious turbulence due to the ongoing conflict around Iran, making it increasingly difficult to predict market trends. According to him, a thorough evaluation is underway, taking into account all aspects of the current situation.<\/p>\n
Earlier, President Putin instructed the Russian government to examine the feasibility and advisability of suspending energy exports to European markets. He pointed out that starting April 25, European Union countries are planning to introduce additional restrictions on the purchase of Russian hydrocarbons, including liquefied natural gas (LNG), with a complete ban expected by 2027.<\/p>\n
In this context, Putin suggested that it may be more beneficial for Russia to proactively redirect its energy supplies to alternative and more promising markets rather than waiting for further restrictions from Europe.<\/p>\n
