Islamabad \/ Moscow (Voice of Russia) The Government of Pakistan has cancelled the proposed visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Russia. According to sources, the decision was taken in view of the prevailing regional security situation, escalating tensions in the Middle East, and the closure of multiple airspaces. Pakistan has informed Moscow that under the current circumstances, the visit is not possible.<\/p>\n
Diplomatic sources stated that due to the Iran-Israel conflict and the suspension of air routes across the region, direct access from Pakistan to Moscow had become complicated. Alternative routes required lengthy airspace permissions and security clearances. In light of these factors, the high-level delegation\u2019s visit has been cancelled for the time being.<\/p>\n
Sources further said that bilateral meetings, discussions on economic and trade cooperation, and high-level consultations were scheduled during the visit. However, due to the evolving security environment and logistical challenges, maintaining the schedule was not feasible.<\/p>\n
Government officials maintain that diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Russia will continue as usual despite the cancellation of the visit.<\/p>\n
Analysts believe that the rapidly changing geopolitical situation in the region has not only impacted diplomatic engagements but has also disrupted international air travel, affecting high-level visits by various countries.<\/p>\n
It is worth noting that Pakistan and Russia have witnessed growing engagement in recent years in the fields of economic cooperation, energy, and regional stability, with both sides expressing a desire to further expand bilateral relations.<\/p>\n
