Moscow (Voice Of Russia) Russia\u2019s Human Rights Commissioner, Tatyana Moskalkova, has appealed to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights regarding the continued unlawful detention of ten residents from Russia\u2019s Kursk Region in Ukraine.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have sent a letter to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, informing him that ten people from the Kursk Region are still being held in Ukraine without cause, in violation of the Geneva Conventions,\u201d Moskalkova told reporters. \u201cI remain hopeful that both the international community and reasonable decision-makers in Ukraine will take action.\u201d<\/p>\n
Moskalkova added that she is in ongoing dialogue with Ukrainian authorities concerning the return of the detained Kursk residents.<\/p>\n
According to the commissioner, two residents from the Kursk Region were returned from Ukraine last Thursday, but ten remain in custody.
