MOSCOW (Voice of Russia): Flight operations at all four major airports of the Russian capital Moscow were restored on October 23 after being suspended several times due to the threat of drone attacks. According to the latest available information from Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsiya, the temporary restrictions at Sheremetyevo and Zhukovsky airports have been lifted, while Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports are receiving and departing flights in coordination with and with the permission of the relevant authorities.<\/p>\n
On Friday, October 23, flight operations at all four Moscow airports were first restricted, but the restrictions were lifted a few hours later. In the evening, temporary restrictions had to be imposed again at all four airports due to a renewed threat of drone attacks.<\/p>\n

According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, on October 23 air defense systems shot down 11 drones heading toward the capital. Security measures at the airports were tightened due to the threat of drone attacks.<\/p>\n
Russia’s Ministry of Transport and Rosaviatsiya have placed the capital’s air operations under special monitoring, while passengers have been advised to check the latest status of their flight with the relevant airline or the airport’s online system before leaving for the airport.<\/p>\n
According to the latest situation, as per information available on the evening of October 23, restrictions have been lifted at Sheremetyevo and Zhukovsky, while flight operations at Vnukovo and Domodedovo continue with the permission of the relevant authorities.
