Moscow:\u00a0 Russia has initiated legal proceedings to recover losses from the freezing of its assets in the European Union, a senior Russian foreign ministry official confirmed.<\/p>\n
Vladislav Maslennikov, Director of the Ministry\u2019s Department of European Affairs, stated that in December 2025, the Bank of Russia filed a claim with Moscow\u2019s Court of Arbitration against the Euroclear depository. The lawsuit aims to recover funds that Russia could not access due to the freezing measures imposed by EU authorities.<\/p>\n
Maslennikov emphasized that Russia, including through its foreign ministry, will continue efforts to reclaim assets that it considers illegally held within the European Union.<\/p>\n
