MOSCOW (Voice of Russia): Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the country’s energy system faced one of the most severe attacks in recent times, in which more than 15 key power generation and transmission installations were targeted.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued on Telegram, Zelensky said that on October 16, major installations linked to power generation and transmission were attacked in various regions of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
He said the situation is worst in Lutsk, Rovno, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Shepetivka, Slavuta and Netishyn.<\/p>\n
According to Zelensky, energy installations were also targeted in Kharkov, Kiev and Dnepropetrovsk, among other regions.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov, while reporting to President Vladimir Putin on October 16, said that Russian forces had launched large-scale attacks against Ukraine’s energy installations.<\/p>\n
