MOSCOW (Voice of Russia): The first Friday (Jumu’ah) prayer was offered at the new central mosque in Syzran, Russia, with a large number of worshippers in attendance. The construction of the mosque took 12 years to complete and was the result of the joint efforts of the local Muslim community. At various stages of construction, members of the community made generous financial contributions and rendered voluntary services.<\/p>\n
Those who attended the Friday prayer described the occasion as historic and welcome. Participants said the construction of the new central mosque was a symbol of the community’s unity and mutual cooperation.<\/p>\n
The next phase of work will include beautifying the surroundings of the mosque, planting greenery and providing the necessary facilities. A formal opening ceremony will be held later to thank all the contributors in a befitting manner.
