RAWALPINDI (Voice of Russia): Russian Federation Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev visited General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi, where he met Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military), Hilal-i-Jurat.<\/p>\n

According to the Pakistan Army’s public relations department (ISPR), the meeting discussed matters of mutual interest and the regional security situation, with special focus on further strengthening bilateral security cooperation between Pakistan and Russia.<\/p>\n

The Pakistan Army spokesman said that during the meeting, both sides stressed the importance of promoting close institutional ties between the security institutions of Pakistan and Russia and improving mutual coordination.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, views were also exchanged on expanding cooperation in the security sector and working together on matters of common interest.<\/p>\n

According to the ISPR, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reiterated the resolve to further strengthen Pakistan’s long-standing relations with Russia, and highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to promoting practical cooperation in areas of common interest, especially in the field of security.<\/p>\n

Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for regional peace and stability, and acknowledged the professional capabilities and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces in the war against terrorism.
