ISLAMABAD (Voice of Russia): In a meeting between Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the Russian Interior Minister, discussions were held on sending skilled Pakistani workforce to Russia and easing visa acquisition.<\/p>\n
The meeting agreed on promoting security, crime prevention and mutual cooperation between the two countries, while delegation-level talks were also held.<\/p>\n
It was decided to sign a memorandum of understanding on preventing organized crime and exchanging information, while agreements on the extradition, exchange and readmission of criminals were also agreed to be finalized.<\/p>\n
The two countries also agreed to increase cooperation between the Anti-Narcotics Force and relevant Russian institutions, prevent cybercrime and strengthen ties between police academies. In this regard, the working groups of the interior ministries of both countries will soon visit each other’s countries.<\/p>\n
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that the agreement against organized crime will prove an important milestone in promoting cooperation between the two countries and easing the visa system will increase people-to-people contacts. He said that currently about 1,300 Pakistani students are studying in Russia. He said Pakistan wants to benefit from Russia’s experience in preventing cybercrime.<\/p>\n
The Russian Interior Minister said joint measures are necessary to prevent terrorism, drug smuggling and illegal migration. According to him, Russia has reduced cybercrime by 33 percent through effective measures.
