PESHAWAR (Voice of Russia): The alleged arrests of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf assembly members continue in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. PTI claims that since September 20, three members of the National Assembly and five members of the Provincial Assembly have been abducted or arrested, while several workers and office-bearers are also missing.<\/p>\n
According to the party, after the announcement of the long march toward Islamabad, incidents of alleged abduction and arrest of National and Provincial Assembly members and office-bearers increased from September 20. There was an attempt to abduct Provincial Minister for Construction and Communications Shakeel Khan on September 20, while Provincial Minister for Irrigation Fazal Shakoor Khan was abducted from the motorway toll plaza on September 21.<\/p>\n
PTI said that National Assembly member Fazal Khan from Charsadda was picked up from Rashakai on September 22. The abduction of National Assembly member Zubair Khan, elected from South Waziristan, from his home in Dera Ismail Khan on the night between September 22 and 23 was also reported.<\/p>\n
According to the party, Provincial Assembly member Muhammad Riaz from Kolai Palas was abducted by unknown persons on September 25, and Provincial Assembly member Sultan Room from Swat on September 26.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, unknown persons attacked the hujra of Provincial Assembly member Abdul Karim Tordher in Swabi with heavy firing, after which his brother Abdul Nasir and three guards were abducted. There are reports of the arrest of Provincial Assembly member Fateh-ul-Mulk Nasir from Chitral and National Assembly member Dawar Kundi from Tank in Islamabad.<\/p>\n
PTI claims that Amir Ejaz, regional general secretary of the Insaf Lawyers Forum, was abducted on September 17. Regarding Dr Nabi Jan of the Insaf Doctors Forum, the party says he was abducted by unknown persons.
