Washington (Voice of Russia): A report by the American investigative outlet Drop Site News has claimed that the CIA’s Red Cell has prepared an assessment on Israel’s future, in which the country has been described as facing the threat of civil war or state collapse.

According to the report, the assessment titled “Fracture from Within” was prepared in August. Drop Site News, citing two American sources familiar with its details, reported that the CIA’s Red Cell examined the growing political, economic and social divisions in Israel.

The assessment states that the ongoing wars in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran have further deepened the divisions within Israel, while severe psychological stress among soldiers returning from prolonged wars is also affecting the internal situation.

The report also described the dispute over military service as a major internal divide in Israel. It mentioned growing resentment among reserve soldiers and other sections of society over the issue of ultra-Orthodox Jews, who have long been exempt from military service.

The assessment also included Israel’s economic difficulties, rising military expenditures, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s efforts to retain power and the resulting political and constitutional tensions as factors of instability.

According to the report, the growing violence by Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank and Israel’s increasing global isolation could further deepen the internal crisis. Declining support for Israel in the United States was also cited as a possible cause of instability.

According to Drop Site News, the CIA did not respond to a request for comment on the report. However, this assessment is not publicly available, so its complete independent verification is not possible; the details of the report have emerged through two American sources.
