Rawalpindi (Voice of Russia): UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres met with Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at GHQ Rawalpindi.<\/p>\n
According to ISPR, the meeting discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional security situation, and the UN’s role in promoting global peace.<\/p>\n
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional stability, the Kashmir issue, India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, and terrorism emanating from Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
The Field Marshal reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to international peace and highlighted the Pakistan Army’s contributions to UN peacekeeping missions.<\/p>\n
He praised the UN’s role under the Secretary-General’s leadership in promoting peace, stability, and humanitarian values.<\/p>\n
Antonio Guterres paid tribute to Pakistan and the Pakistan Army’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and in UN peacekeeping missions.<\/p>\n
