ST. PETERSBURG: Russian President Vladimir Putin has highlighted that Moscow is facing ongoing drone attacks on its territory while, at the same time, pressure is being placed on Russia to stop targeting Ukrainian infrastructure.<\/p>\n
During a briefing, Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko informed the president about upgraded defensive measures against UAV threats. He reported that 16 out of 17 planned protective installations have been completed through joint funding and are now operational.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are seeing attempts to carry out attacks, and the system is having an effect,\u201d Drozdenko noted.<\/p>\n
President Putin responded by saying, \u201cAnd yet we are being asked not to respond,\u201d referring to international appeals aimed at limiting Russian strikes.<\/p>\n
Putin is currently on a working trip to St. Petersburg, where he held meetings with Malaysian Sultan Ibrahim as well as regional officials, including Drozdenko and St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov.
