Moscow (Voice of Russia): Pakistan has launched the process of signing a Free Trade Agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union, a move aimed at strengthening trade and economic cooperation with Russia and other member states.<\/p>\n
In an interview with TASS, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, said the agreement could be finalized within the next few months to two years.<\/p>\n
The ambassador noted that Pakistan is a natural partner in the North-South Transport Corridor and believes closer economic integration with the Eurasian region will boost trade, investment, tourism, and people-to-people contacts.<\/p>\n
He revealed that discussions between Pakistan’s Minister of Commerce and the leadership of the Eurasian Economic Union are already underway, expressing confidence that both sides will successfully conclude the agreement.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Tirmizi said Pakistan sees enormous potential for expanding cooperation with Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and other EAEU member states.
