MOSCOW (Voice of Russia): The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that Russian armed forces carried out large-scale strikes overnight on Ukraine’s military-industrial centers, the transport infrastructure of the capital Kyiv, and ports in the Odesa region.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, ground-launched high-precision weapons and drones were used in the strikes.
The ministry said the strikes targeted Ukrainian defense plants engaged in producing and storing long- and medium-range cruise missiles and drones. Transport facilities in Kyiv, ports in the Odesa region, and naval vessels used by the Ukrainian military were also hit.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, a strike was carried out on the aircraft manufacturing and assembly plant of the Antonov State Enterprise in Kyiv, where long- and medium-range drones, FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles and FP-9 operational-tactical missiles were produced.
The ministry said a warehouse of Refrigeration Complex No. 3 in Kyiv was also hit, which was being used as a center for producing long- and medium-range fixed-wing drones and Hornet loitering munitions.
Russian forces also claimed to have hit an industrial facility in Kyiv where parts for long- and medium-range fixed-wing drones and robotic systems were manufactured.
In addition, a warehouse in Kyiv storing drones and rocket boosters was also targeted.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian forces also struck the Yuzhny road and railway bridge over the Dnipro River in Kyiv, which was being used to transport military equipment.
In the Odesa region, Russian forces targeted facilities at the port of Kilia used for unloading and storing military equipment supplied to Ukraine from abroad.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also claimed that Russian forces hit a cargo ship at sea that was carrying supplies for the Ukrainian military toward the port of Chornomorsk.
On the other hand, Kyiv’s city military administration confirmed on its Telegram channel that traffic on the Yuzhny Bridge has been restricted.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko also said that part of the metro infrastructure on the bridge was damaged.
According to the Ukrainian news outlet Strana, the closure of the Yuzhny Bridge over the Dnipro River and the traffic restrictions caused severe traffic jams in Kyiv. The outlet also released videos of long queues of vehicles.
The head of the administration of Ukraine’s Vinnytsia region, Natalia Zabolotna, also said on Telegram that industrial facilities and energy infrastructure in the region were damaged.
