MOSCOW (Shahid Ghumman): Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that despite the European Union’s discriminatory policies, Russia has no intention of banning the entry of peace-minded European citizens into the country. Speaking at her press briefing, Maria Zakharova said Moscow will not respond to the EU’s anti-Russia policies with discrimination against ordinary European citizens. The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said interest among citizens of European countries in the Russian language and Russian educational institutions continues to grow. Russian language courses at Russian centres abroad are continuing as before. According to her, around 2,000 people studied in language courses at Russian centres abroad during the first half of this year. Maria Zakharova also spoke about the prospects of restoring full energy cooperation between Russia and the European Union. She said that given the current signals from Brussels, the prospects of restoring full energy cooperation in the near future look extremely limited. The Russian spokeswoman said the EU’s current leadership continues a policy of political confrontation instead of practical and mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia.
